Why fiction doesn't interest me anymore?

The world of our dreams, our ideals is a place where each person lucidly wants to live. Oh! common don't tell me when you first read Harry potter you didn't hold your breath. How you could do anything to get the tickets to the surreal land of Hogwarts. How you wished you could lead lives of these detectives, say Hercule poirot, Sherlock holmes, James Bond, Nancy drew etc? How you brushed past the novels of Dan Brown, John Grisham, Enid blyton, Sidney Sheldon and Jeffrey Archer to please your hunger of curiosity and thirst for potraying yourself as the central characters of these dextrously written stories. How craftily these stories appealed to the minds and souls of avid young readers.

Imagination is a place which has the enormous power to entagle you amidst it, if it gives you positive vibes, you terribly start hallucinating too. Negative vibes aren't far behind. The metamorphosis from a gleeful state to a worrying state disparages you, once you touch reality. You further want to see the future the way you percept, pristine and void of reality, and the only way is living in fiction and this goes on as a vicious cycle.(virtuos for the dreamers!)

Being an idealist, optimist, pessimist is good upto a certain extent. Too much of anything is injurious, rather say disastrous. Being the upper and lower bounds of a graph is not the aim of life. I personally feel the need to stay between the two, the best is stay unbounded, change as per scenario. Gain something, loose something too! Be a realistic, vote for change, a revolutionist. Nothing in this universe obeys ideal laws, they are just to put on the paper. Everything has a deviation, deviation from the ideal. The ideals are rules set up and governed for perfection, which again is illusionary.

When you read books written by 'real' people for 'real' people you understand the principles of life. Nor sorrow can uproot you, neither happiness can uplift you. You can see a significant change while reading autobiographies, biographies ,diaries and documentaries as opposed to fiction. I used to find it tough to read such books initially, I pondered why? Was it because it was something tough to accept, unable to transport to a place of mirth and awe? It doesn't serve my purpose of leisure time, maybe!

My tryst with such books happened four years back, their were many authors who braved themselves to potray their stories out to the world. They help you connect to the society, the issues they face and how practically they fought against it! I can surely standup and say once you reach to the heart of such books, you never will try to see back. The epitome of such books is priceless, though sadder than your reality but sweeter than fiction!
